CCA Georgia is part of Coastal Conservation Association, Inc. the largest marine resource conservation organization of its kind. CCA has more than 100,000 members among 17 coastal state chapters spanning the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic seaboard, and the Pacific Northwest. CCA Georgia began its work to build artificial reefs in 1991 with construction of the CCA Reef offshore from Savannah with rubble from the old Talmadge Bridge that was the U.S. Highway 17 crossing of the Savannah River.

Currently, CCA Georgia is actively involved with four specific reef construction and habitat projects ranging from Savannah to St. Simons. Details of these projects can be found on the CCA Georgia website at ccaga.org.
The purpose of CCA is to advise and educate the public on conservation of marine resources. The objective of CCA is to conserve, promote, and enhance the present and future availability of those coastal resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. We serve as the voice of the recreational fisherman.
